The iSymphony LC32IF60CN 1080p 32-inch HDTV: Excellent Value For Money
By mimidelores
While the HDTV market is already dominated by a few major brands, there are other brands trying to break into the market. Many of them do so by offering very value-added products (a lot more functions and features) at much more affordable prices than your average HDTV. The iSymphony LC32IF60CN is one of these HDTV models and sets itself apart by being one of the few 32” HDTV models out there with full HD 1080p resolutions at well below the $500 price range.
Design
Most of the time unfamiliar brands either look out-of-this-world in an effort to differentiate themselves or look rather generic. The iSymphony LC32IF60CN goes for the generic approach with sharp edges, wide bezels and a relatively thick panel. Not to say that its not attractive, its just that it looks like how most last generation HDTVs did which is still a good thing. As usual, the bezels are matte black although the stand and rectangular base have somewhat of a glossy surface finish. This HDTV can also be wall mounted.
Features and Specifications
Featuring a 32” widescreen the iSymphony LC32IF60CN offers full HD 1080p resolutions which should satisfy the Blu-ray media crowd and HD gamers. Other features are relatively normal with a 60Hz refresh rate and 10,000:1 image contrast ratio. It does offer a few more connections with three HDMI ports, one VGA port, one Ethernet port and a USB port. While it doesn't have any actual built-in Wi-Fi it does include a USB wireless-n Wi-Fi adapter that you can plug into the USB port. This lets you use the easy access Internet widgets, another higher-end HDTV feature that you probably will not find on other 32” HDTV units.
Performance
Image and video quality on the iSymphony LC32IF60CN are vivid and above average with smooth 1080p clip performance. There is almost no motion blur for the action shots but it could be noticeable by the more discerning viewer. The extra connections allow for good convergence as you can hook up your Blu-ray player, gaming console and computer quite easily with minimal fuss. The main highlight of this HDTV remains the Internet widgets. Although attaching the external USB wireless-n Wi-Fi adapter does make the HDTV look a bit lopsided, it does work surprisingly well as you can get smooth media streaming quite easily.
Conclusion
All in all, the iSymphony LC32IF60CN is definitely one of those HDTVs which will catch the eye because of its functions and features if not for its value-added price. It is definitely something to consider if you're on budget looking for a HDTV that can do both Internet connectivity as well as full HD 1080p. The smaller screen size but high resolution means that you get pretty good bang for your buck even in smaller living room environments.
