LG Infinia 47LW5600 47-Inch LED 3D HDTV Review
By mimidelores
In the world of HDTVs, LG is well know for breaking the price barrier time and time again, and in the best way too. Thanks to the competitive pricing of the LG Infinia 47LW5600, the home 3D movie-viewing experience does not have to be an expensive affair anymore. Both its 3D glasses and the TV itself is currently one of the best priced in the 3D HDTV market.
In this new 3D HDTV model, LG has kept its tradition of minimalist and classy designs with its clean links and details. The screen is surrounded by a relative thin 1.2-inch bezel and it rests on a swivel rectangular stand. On the bottom bezel, you will find a set of subtle, touch-sensitive control buttons. Most of the controls and buttons are all discreetly hidden away from view so as to not to distract the viewer from the clean design of the TV set.
One of the coolest feature on the new LG Infinia 47LW5600 is the remote controls that comes with it. Out from the box, you get two remotes. One is the regular run-of-the-mill remote and the other, the Magic Motion remote! I have to retrain myself from putting dramatic sound effects to that.
The Magic Motion remote works very much like a laser pointer cum air mouse where you can use it to navigate around the menus by moving and pointing it at various areas of the screen. I can tell already that this cool remote control would serve as a big selling point for this model.
Bells and whistles aside, the LG Infinia 47LW5600 is actually a very capable 2D and 3D HDTV set. As mentioned earlier, this 3D TV set is relatively affordable. First of all, it comes with not one, not two, but four 3D glasses. If you need to get more for a larger viewing crowd, the come with a budget friendly price tag of $10 each.
If you think that the low price would comprise on the 3D viewing experience, think again. First of all the glasses are very comfortable to wear. Coupled with a good 3D content, the 3D images were very crisp and vibrant. The 3D depths were also very impressive, and generally held its own well even when compared to the performance of more expensive high-end models.
Its 2D picture quality was also very good, with good contrasts and very dark black levels. Like many LED-lilt HDTV models, it is also extremely power efficient. All in all, the LG Infinia 47LW5600 is an amazing 47-inch 3D-ready HDTV. Its superb performance and cool feature set have impressed many tech experts across the web and it had the same effect on the authors of this review. Whether you are looking to buy a new 3D HDTV on a budget or not, the LG Infinia 47LW5600 proves to be an excellent choice.
